In brown cloth with titling and illustrations in brown and black, spine title in gold. Illustrated thoroughly with engravings. Edges are bumped and the cloth with rubbed. Pencil markings made on edges of page block. Endpapers are scuffed and written on. Small hole in front free endpaper.Staining on rear endpapers. Pages are lightly yellowed and occasionally have smudges or soil as well as some small tears in the edges, but for the most part are clean and readable. The binding is fairly sound, but on the loose side, and the front endpapers have split down the gutter and been reglued.
