Moderate wear and soiling to covers, heavier wear and soiling on spine ends and edges of boards. Back cover has a mild crease. Corners slightly bumped. Ink gift inscription on front free endpaper, dated 1945. Pages are brown with age but in good condition with no markings, underlinings or creases. The binding is tight. Color illustrated dust jacket has chipping on the spine ends and at corners, old tape along the top edge, is faded on the spine, and is worn and soiled but is essentially intact, in a clear plastic protector.
