Punch, or the London Charivari (Volume 70-71, January-December 1876)

The Office, Fleet Street, London, 1876. Hardcover. Volumes 70 and 71 bound together, encompassing all of 1876; title page for volume 71 appears to be missing, but pagination begins again at '1' in July, and the footer does switch from LXX to LXXI at that point. Black half leather, black cloth, gilt titles and decoration. Leather shows heavy edgewear, scuffing and cracking. Light general staining to cloth, with large white stain to front panel. Binding cracked at inner hinges, shaken through text; intact. Early bookseller's ticket at front paste down. Foxed throughout, with two illustrations painted in by a previous owner. Text otherwise unmarked, with no previous owners' notes or underlining. Used: Acceptable. Item #BBS-2012224
