John Grant, 1933. Hardcover. Three volume set, complete. Years: 1933 (volume one) - 1934 (volumes two and three). Navy cloth with gilt spine titles, decoration in blind to front panels. Light rubbing, cloth bumped to spine tips and heavily bumped to fore-edge corners. Spines square. Bindings sound. Dust jackets scuffed, dusty, with moderate to heavy edgewear including tiny closed tears and minor chipping at spine tips and fore-edge corners. DJs protected in Mylar. Prior owner's name penciled to front paste down of all three volumes, and all three are foxed to textblock edges and endsheets, and rarely/intermittently through text. Interiors else free of markings. Volume one has many uncut pages; uncut pages are rarer but still occur in volumes two and three. Two foldout color maps at rear of volume three, preceding the index. Books are also copiously illustrated throughout with full color plates: 50 plates in volume one (48 standard, two on the same paper as the text), 50 in volume two, and 26 in volume three.
