Brown leather with gilt spine titling, heavy rubbing and edgewear, tiny points of insect damage to upper margins of both hinges and across lower spine. Previous, overzealous glue repair to front inner hinge; binding cracked at first chapter, and very slightly cracked to a few other places, but with the exposed threads secure; binding is currently strong. Marbled endsheets. Pencil markings at half title, and foxing intermittently throughout. Illustrated throughout with 10 chromolithographs and 410 woodcuts by a variety of artists. Used: Good.
