Whispers Press, 1978. Hardcover. Signed proof. Advance review state of the first edition, preceding it: one of only 15 copies of unbound signatures (here bound by metal clasp). Signed at the back of the last page by editor/publisher Stuart Schiff, with a short provenance statement explaining this, dated 1977. Additionally inscribed by author Fritz Leiber at the back, to a previous owner. Pages very good, with publisher stamps to first page / title page, else clean and bright - text unmarked. The fourth (of five) signature has two short tears at spine with discrete tape repairs; the issue has no impact on the metal clasp binding. Clasp has some light rust formation, but is sound and strong. Wrapped in a dust jacket mockup for the eventual hardcover DJ, protected in Mylar with no visible wear. Used: Very Good.
