Presented from the scholarship of French classicist Claude Saumaise (1588-1653). Second edition thus, reprinted line by line from a 1660 edition of the same Amsterdam branch of Elzevier (as per Willems, nos. 1258-1490). Contemporary vellum, with title inked by hand at spine. Some staining to back cover; top edges dirty. Vellum folded edges stiff. Binding sound. Engraved title page / illustration by C. V. Dalen, with additional decorations preceding each section through the book. First and last few pages have moderate to heavy edgewear. Owner's name inked to inside front cover, and there is a small blue pen marking to first page; additional notes to first page and rear inside cover in pencil; light sporadic foxing throughout; interior else clean, text unmarked. 5-in x 8-in.
