Oxford University Press / The Library of Science Edition, [c.1950s]. Hardcover. Five volume set. All volumes have some shelf wear, along with a few bumped corners and owners' stamp on front free endpaper, o/w unmarked, spines tight, b/w plates intact. B/W illustrations through out. In all volumes, the title page indicates the publisher as Oxford University Press, New York & London, dated 1954 through 1958 for the different volumes. However the copyright page has, in addition to the Oxford info, a line reading The Library of Science Edition first published, followed by dates from 1957-1959.
